My RKC steed came in vivid black and I really love the contrast between the chrome and black. Yes you must spend additional time to continue to keep it looking great but when your not riding and your bike is sitting in the garage, crack open a cold one, pick up a mico rag and some of your favorite polish and wipe her down...

Vivid Black on my SGS. Was torn between denim and vivid. Last bike was vivid. Thought a change would be good.
Always happy with the vivid and you can't get any more classy than shiny black. I decided to stick with familiar. Also didn't like the red stripes, denim would of had. I would have preferred no stripes, but the gray striping has grown on me now.
For that matter, I like the red stripes better now. The choice might be closer now, but vivid still wins for me.

I've had both colors and I like the simplicity of the denim much better, although the vivid when it's all shined up, look real classy. Everyone who says the flat colors are a fad, people have been doing that since the 50's and I see no sign on going anywhere. I just put a deposit down on a 14 SGS black denim, can't wait for it to arrive! Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the replies. I agree the ember red looks good in the sunlight but I've always wanted a black harley. I think I'm goin to try the plasti dip satin black. That will give me an idea of whether or not I would wanna trade for a black and if I don't like it I can peel it off. Plus with the heat and dust here in sw Oklahoma I'll get to see how it holds up. And if I get my bag extensions it will only cost me $10 to dip them to match!
