I noticed this light situation shortly after bringing my '07 home, refering to not being able to have the spots and the high-beam on at the same time. Didn't like it, but do you think it was to protect the circuits from overload? Why else would they wire it this way?

Thanks for the post. Ya know, I think I may do this. I have to take the brains out of the RKC again, Harley is warranting the new touring bars I just put on...had some cosmetic blemishes I didn't see in the plastic when I picked them up at the dealer. This will go good with the aux switch housing on the LH grip I just installed also.

I have found that your basic crack torch type lighter, which an be purchased at just about any convenience store, works great in lieu of a soldering iron...

Yes, the fairing will need to be removed as that is the easiest/only way to get to the plug in connector to unplug the switch dash from the fairing wiring harness. ALso the switch dash and ignition switch will need removal.

C'mon JB - ya KNOW you wuz figgerin' ta have him do it jest fer practice...<G> Dunno - because on mine, as ah started ta move the dash the plug came right into position fer easy access w/o havin' ta remove the front fairing - even though it was already off. At that point, most everything wuz off the bike...
