Conversion of Driving Lights to operate on Low AND High beams!
#101
Good read I understand all points of view, I have fog lamps on the engine guard of a SG and despite the wording of the law can't understand why the fog lamps have to automatically go off when the headlamp is switched to highbeam. Cars have driving lamps in the bumper now and they stay on when they turn their headlamps on highbeam?
So confused why cagers have more ability to light the road than we do.

Take off your headlamp, locate the orange wire that follows the headlamp connector wire.
Then locate the flat four pin connector for the spot lamp switch.
Remove and insulate the yellow wire from the spot lamp switch, and connect the orange wire in it's place, (I cut the wire and used quick connects male/female and taped them together also so I could switch back fast if needed) this puts the spotlamp on the accessory circuit. You can still use the spotlamp switch to turn them on and off, but the high/low beam switch will no longer affect it.

If you ever see a cage with high beams AND fog/driving lights on at the same time it is illegal. Just as illegal and for the same reasons as what we are discussing. I do take all laws into consideration and figure out why it was made and who could get hurt. If I think about it long enough, from enough angles, and it seems OK I might break that law.
Having said that I have every intension to give myself as much light as possible when I am alone on the road trying to avoid bambi and the rest of the forest critters.
Question: I am not sure yet, but doesn't my low beam turn off when my high beam is activated? If so is there a way to have both filiments on at the same time? So in theory after this mod I would have spot lights, high beam, AND low beam on at the same time? Will it create too much heat inside the headlight?

Ah terminated the original wire, since ah wuz too lazy to trace it back an' see whether havin' power come from another source could cause any issue. As ta the feller what showed usin' one of them "blue thingies", may yer shorts rot 'round the family jewels! Thar is NO way ah'd EVER use a line tap on ANY vehicle ah own - PERIOD!!!
