Default Front rotors question

Hello all, I have 2012 Street Glide with Rev Tech Dominator wheel. Need two front rotors. Wondering what the difference or benefit is to having floating rotors?? Thanks for any input. Also anyone recommend any?
Thank you, Russell

Hey Smith:

When I bought my 06 Ultra in late 09 it had 12,000 miles and a shake in the front brakes. I bought some EBC floating rotors and my brakes were smooth as glass. Now I can't say I couldn't have bought 2 new stock rotors and got the same results but the EBC's were prettier!

Floating rotors don't transfer heat built up into the hubs and are more reliable in staying true. When I first used them I was sceptical that they would actually improve braking, but they certainly do IMHO. I have 13" Harrison rotors on my Glide, with Billet 6 calipers, but if I were to start again I would look closely at Lyndall composite rotors and pucks.

HD sells some fair price floating rotors they work very well you do not need fancy racing rotors. Once your non floating rotors give you the indication they need to be looked at. Pull them install floating rotors and never worry about it again.
Floating rotors should be standard equipment.

Agreed on the standard equipment statement. I have a Harley floating rotor on the rear. They are indeed good value, as they come with new screws. May sound a small thing, but they are an extra cost for all other options.

I also have the HD floaters on the front the rear is still the stock rotors on my 07. I did upgrade in 09 and went with to Hawk performance Sintered brake pads.
