Default 2014 FLHXS windshield

Picking one up in the morning. So how does the stock windshield work at highway speed @ 5'9"
Do u see a lot of buffeting, do u feel more comfortable with a taller shield?

The stock shield looks cool but it sucks azz for buffeting. Check out Long Ride Shields, they have recurves for the 2014's and can help you choose the right height shield. Choosing the right height for you is crucial to limit buffeting.

I'm 5'8" and still have the stock shield. It's winter here so I haven't been able to ride much but what little I have road it's not been to bad. I'll most likely get a different one but I'm not in a big hurry.

After my first 8hr day on the bike I ordered the 7" LRS dark tint with recurve. It's worlds better than the stock shield but I still get very mild buffeting above 70mph. For day trips it's fine but I'll probably order a 11" clear for trips 3 days of more just for extra comfort.

Here is a pic

Yep, I was thinking it was worthless at highway speed. Does the vent make any difference on buffeting?

With a taller windshield the vent works very well but not really noticeable with the stock shield. On my brothers CVO limited with stock shield you can really tell a difference when you close the vent.

I'm 6' 2", still have the stock windshield on mine. Have had some buffeting at highway speeds. Enough that I've decided I want a taller windshield, but not enough that I'm in a hurry to get it.

I got the bailey shield. It is made out of aircraft material. It is also curved..it really shoots the air over me and wife on the back...she loves it also.

The factory one looks great, but isn't all that good at highway speeds. Got a lot of airflow right around my lower forehead (I'm 5'9"). Just put HD's 7" Wind Splitter on mine. Waiting for the weather to break to try it out, whenever that may be. Paid $127 on Kutter.
