Default Old style throttle lock

06' street glide with thumb screw throttle lock won't...... uh , lock.
Seems to just spin and not hold throttle.
Anyone repair one of these?
Is it worth messing with?

If I'm not mistaken , its only meant to make the throttle greater or lesser in resistance.

Just get a throttle rocker. About $12.

If it just spins, the threads are stripped or the small part inside the housing is missing or out of place.

Checked my SM, don't see a breakdown for that. Did I miss it?

I don't think you will find an aftermarket throttle lock in the Service Manual.

I have a factory one on my old '90 Glide, so OP's could be factory.

Dave, you need to dismantle the throttle assembly, to inspect things closely. If the thread has stripped I suspect the only repair is a new or replacement twistgrip housing.

These folks require you to drill out the old threads anyway and tap in new ones. I have read reviews that say good things.
