I thought I saw a post where someone had used the 14 rear guards on an earlier model. Maybe it was another forum, but I seem to remember reading that someone had done it.

I know they pay for themselves, but that extra piece of bar that goes under the seat looks wrong. HD could have done better than that.

Took the side guards off my ultra. Still running the front guard. I think they look cleaner without them, but the added protection is nice.

Im going to order some eventually, my left bag is already dinged up from the previous owner dropping it, and on long trips you can hook up the pouches to them to carry drinks, etc

Yes please post.

The 2014's look so much better then the 2013 & older saddle bag guards,

But from my understanding, they won't fit. Different saddlebag support bars underneath.

They sure look better then the standard ones and also give the BSR more leg room without the guard bars hitting their calves.

YB

Not a direct swap.

I have a 2014 Road King now and had a 2010 Road King previously. On the 10 I replaced the OEM saddlebag guards with the saddlebag guards with guardrails. I still have the 09-13 OEM saddlebag guards. I initially was going to put the 09-13 guards on the 14 because I liked the older style better (but not anymore).

The 09-13 saddlebag guards will fit the 14 frame, but the tube on the bottom of the saddlebag guards where the saddlebag support mounts inside are different lengths, the 09-13 tube is shorter than the 14 (about 1½“), the 09-13 and 14 saddlebag supports are also different lengths. The 14 saddlebag support bars will not mount to a 09-13 bike and vise versa.

Might be able to use a 14 saddlebag guard with a 09-13 saddlebag support on a 09-13 bike, if the saddlebag support was cut off and a new mounting hole drilled. The tube diameters appear to be the same.
