I installed the FP3 on my wifes new sportster 883 superlow along with a screaming eagle heavy breather and V&H short shot staggered pipes. I downloaded the recommended map from V&H. The bike ran good but with one problem. When the bike is warmed up to normal operating temp then shut down for a bit like when stopping for a stretch break etc. go to start the bike back up and it doesn't want to idle unless you give it a little throttle, it seems to be a tad rich judging by the smell of the exhaust and the slight black smokey exhaust at start up and low idle. Anyways, i tried the auto tune function after talking to a V&H tech and it just does not work for me. The first time the bike would not start while in auto tune mode, after reflashing the bike back to the stock map then flashing the bike back to the recommended map then back in auto tune mode again the bike started but it popped, sputtered and farted and ran like crap! I called V&H tech people again and told me to send them the downloaded map via the app on my phone. Did that approx. 4 months ago with no response. Ive tried calling many times and either got a busy signal or the run around when i did finally get through. Long story short, i reflashed back to the stock map and now have a $300 piece of crap paper weight! IMO not worth the $$ or the hassle. Next stop may be fuel moto so i can get rid of the decel popping on her bike. One more thing, i did have the dealer do the stage one download to the bike.

Nonsense. He wrote a very thoughtful post and that's your two line reply? You're probably a dyno tuner. And yes, in 90% of cases dyno tuning IS a total RIPOFF not to mention very OLD technology compared to what we have today. It's guess work and every tuner is different. Take your bike to ten different tuners and you'll get ten different results for up to $500 after having your bike redlined for hours.

Manual tuning is out. There is brilliant technology like FP3 with Auto Tune and Power Vision. BOTH will tune your big MILES better than any tuner out there.

I've had bikes dyno tuned by guys with great reputations. In most cases they ran okay but always lacking in some areas and nobody could completely get rid of decel popping which is a sure sign your bike is poorly tuned. FP3 puts them all to shame.

I'm on a 14 Road King now with a FP3 and I have never had a more perfectly tuned bike that runs cool and efficiently in every gear, every rpm range and every throttle setting.

FP3 all the way.

I think the FP3 will the way for my '15. Not a bad price either. I did a PV on my last one and that was a bit pricey.

I don't know what you ride, but I am currently "playing" with the Superchips Vigilante Tuner. If they have a tune (tuner) avail for your model, you may want to look at their current 1/2 price offer on this forum. ($150) I installed one yesterday and so far I give it a 9 on a scale of 10. I want to run it for awhile before I give it an endorsement, but I went with due to it's Stage 1 only tuning and price and ease of install.

You wrote a 4 paragraph bluster that said little more than his 2 line comment, and yet I feel he is spot on. A good dynotuned map for your particular bike is a light year better than any autotune devised. The more mods the better the result. If just pipes and AC than most of the basic tuners pass muster. All tuner packs will be blue tooth within a short period of time, it is inevitable.

Both Fp3 and the Superchips Vigilante are avail for the Canbus hook up. The Viginlante is relatively new and is playing catch up on the 2014/2015 tune downloads. I was going with the Fp3 for my 2011 Canbus equipped Heritage, but bought the Vigilante because of the 1/2 price deal and the 30 day return policy. So far it is not going back. If the Fp3 works as well as the Vigilante and they have a tune for for your bike, I wouldn't hesitate to use these tuners on a Stage 1 set up.

Help me out here, I can't find that offer and their website has it priced over 400.00, where can I find it?

Nope, I'm not a dyno tuner, but go ahead and keep believing that these little magical boxes are better than an actual dyno tune by someone that knows what they're doing. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with them, just saying that a qualified dyno tuner will tune it better than the box will.
