Default Anyone afraid to carry their bike to your local Harley Shop?

Just wondering if I am the only person that doesn't have a warm fuzzy feeling about carrying your bike to the Harley shop for repairs or even scheduled maintenance? After seeing some of the things my local HD dealership has done and the way they handle peoples bikes and treat customers, I just don't trust these guys. Kinda hate not to have the initial service documented by a dealer, but don't want the bike worse off when I pick it up than when I dropped it off.

I got suckered into buying a maintenance and repair package by the dealership that I regretted purchasing within a week. It sounded like a great deal, and then I read the fine print...

For me, it's about the same as posting a craigslist ad for someone to watch your house while you go on vacation.

I dont really have a local dealer per say....so who knows who i would trust to do my work. My bike has never had a service done at a dealer. I feel the same way as the OP. Plus, WHY would i pay someone for something that I can do??

I never had Fort Thunder do any maintenance on my bike. I'm not saying that I won't but there parts department service is awesome . I always use use Mike Larney thought.

Every time I've had mine at the shop (warranty only) they have provided me with a new scratch that I never seem to find until a few days later.

I've had a few bad visits over the last few years resulting in some scratches and scuffs. So yes, now everytime my bike is in the shop for anything makes me nervous as hell. I try to avoid it at all costs but sometimes you have no choice.
