Visor Style Headlamp Trim Ring?
#11
I removed the original ring so I could test fit the new ring off the bike. Even off the bike it leaves a gap. There is no way in hell it will close all the way because of the size of the stock ring. It's not possible. So I guess people just live with the gap or I got a factory defect. One of the 2.

I've got both the frenched or eyebrowed type visor, and the full ringed type. They are not cut the same.
The frenched is cut shorter, and regardless of how tightly you pull it down, it will not completely eliminate the gap.
The full ringed type is cut a little longer, and carefully pulling it tightly down will eliminate the gap.
I cannot say if the two are always cut differently, or if it's just slop in the manufacturing process and that they all vary as a result.

I also was able to install these on my RK with no gap. as others mentioned, the key for me was to leave the factory trim ring underneath just a tad loose to let the frenched ring to get behind it. Having asecond set of hands during the install is a big help too.
These are the best pics that I've got.

This seems to be a common issue with these. If I remember I left the original off and installed the frenched one by itself.Don't know if I'm missing something by doing it that way but that's how I did it.With the"frenched " passing lamps, they came with some foam rubber for weather sealant or something.I couldn't get them to cooperate either so after looking it over I saw no reason for them so left the foam rubber out also.Short on patience mabe but haven't had an issue yet on either the headlight trim ting or the passing light trims rings.Did I miss something?
