96 versus 103 motor?

My 96 with cams etc. has no problem keeping up with most everyone I ride with. Once the top end gets a little tired i will probably bypass 103 and go straight to 106/107. Until then, I'm not feeling underpowered by any means. That said, I do plan on putting in the automatic comp releases that would have come stock on a 103. But I don't need them yet and haven't paid extra for them.
As others have said, coming from a 4sp shovel, to a 5spd evo, 88tc-95 tc to now, I'm pretty darn happy on my 96" 6sp.

I rode a Ultra 88CI.....was going to ride to Texas, so I bought a 2009 with a 96"...never made the trip....but upgraded the motor to a 103". Traded that in on a 2013 Road Glide 103". You are never going to be happy. Just get a screemin' eagle 110. be done with it.
(A 96" should be fine.....)

I guess the obvious answer is everyone that has a 96 likes it......everyone that has a 103 like it as well. Stage 1 is Stage 1 on both bikes, cams are cams on both bikes, so buy the one you're comfortable with. that being said, I waited for the right deal on a 103 over the 96 when I bought just because bigger is better!!
