Puller or smasher? I have a harbor freight set, very cheap, works well, and an old *** A frame arbor press...... Got it from a yard sale. Both work well, have used them for years on other bikes. Just had bearing installed in a chrome cush drive pulley that I was terrified to mess up, so I let the dealership do it.

Have to be careful, I've jerked the center out of a sealed bearing in a neck cup before...... Just have to use small blows.

if you're only going to change w/brgs once , just have a shop install them, but if you want more, its more than just removing them, they need to be PRESSED back in to keep from damaging them. do it right

i bought and used this one a few months ago. 88 bucks. It's surprisingly well made and the colletts are correctly sized. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HARLEY-DAVID...3D161118708175

I bought and use the $85-$100 tool from Ebay, BUT they do not come with a true 25mm puller. I ordered the 25mm puller/installer from Georges Garage. I think I had a total of around $140 in the tools. Works great. I highly recommend the 25mm kit from Georges, the 1" stuff that comes with the tool is not an exact fit.

Some guys will go to the autoparts store and rent a puller/seater. That might be an option as well if you are familiar with the tool and how it works. But it's rare the autoparts store will have a 25mm puller/seater…maybe….but who knows.

The one I got off ebay had several sizes and 25mm was one of them.

Tool was around 100 bucks shipped. I've used it twice now so it's paid for itself I guess. Kinda neat doing this yourself.

I have and use this tool (MBS Manufactoring or Heartland), it will pull/install 3/4" 1" & 25mm Harley wheel bearings. Look around Amazon and eBay for best price. Made in USA, very good quality

Heartland Products

I have a Pit Posse, excellent tool, both removing and installing. If you get this style, grease all the mating surfaces well, makes it easier to turn. The similar looking Heartland has a thrust bearing so might not need any greasing, but I'd still grease the threads on the puller bolt. Harley bearings are really tight, if nobody has tried pounding them in or out with a hammer - that always ***** them a bit. Doing a bearing right with a tool like this beats buying a new wheel after a few bearings. I also have an HF slide hammer puller, but doubt that would budge a Harley wheel bearing.
