Is anyone else having trouble with the J&M headsets. I have to yell to break vox, then it doesn't stay open very long. The wife and I cannot talk to each other. I've tried adjusting the vox and volume until I'm blue in the face. I called J&M and they tell me I have the correct lower cord. This set worked great in my Goldwing for years. I'm thinking there is a mixmatch here with the 06 ultra.

The music is great and my friends say my cb sounds good, however, I cannot hear myself when I talk on the cb.

Any help will be appreciated.

If you are able to talk and be heard by others on the CBtheres probable nothing wrong with your headsets. I would guess there a problem with the radio system network for the intercom system [VOX]. Check it out with the dealer...bring both headsets and helmets with you and have them take a look see.

 

Are you aware that vox sensitivity can be adjusted while in the intercom mode.

 

Yes, I tried adjusting everything I could and switched helmets with my wife. The J&M just didn't work well with intercom and CB. Since I had two HD headsets, I use these for two up travel and when I want to us CB with other riders. I installed the J&M without the microphone in a different helmet and use it when I just want music.

 

I'm having the same problem!! Driving me nuts! I've had the bike to the dealer twice, nothing wrong according to them. I send the headsets to J&M and the upper an lower cords -- nothing wrong!! ( I have the correct lower cord with 7 pins!). If i use only my headset, the CB transmits fine. If I add the passenger headset and try to transmitt on the CB, i get extreme noise!!! We also have the same problem with the intercom that you have.
I have read the owner's manual and the setting recommendations, but it's not working correctly. The intercom won't hold when we're talking and doesn't always start up like it should.

Yes, i do have an 06 Ultra.

 

Same problem here, I had to use two HD headsets to get the intercom to work like it should.Something about the sensivity of the J&M headsets.
