Default $460.00 for the Tuner and $280.00 to Dyno?

I have Rhineharts on my 14 SGS and am about to change out the AC to a high flow. Dealer wants 460 for the tuner and 280 for the dyno? Does that seem about right or does that seem high?

that is on low side, I payed same for tuner TTS and 450 for dyno , it took like 3.5 hr for dyno.
anyway it is way overpriced , and you can't use same tuner for your other bikes or is that lie.

Yea you are paying retail for the SEPST and the tune is a bit less than usual, most tuners around here charge $300. You may want to check the discount dealers for a better price on the SEPST, you can usually get them on EBay for $370 plus maybe shipping. The non piggyback tuning systems that change the ECM lock to the VIN so you can't swap those. The piggyback ones like the Power Commander can be swapped, but are more cumbersome and frequently not quite as tunable. Some dealers charge by the hour for tuning, some a flat rate, if they charge by the hour, you can only hope you get a tech that knows what the hell he is doing or it can end up costing you $460

They should be able to do a Stage 1 download (flash the ECM) for under $200 and that will suffice your current needs.

Or I'd go with Power Vision and let it do all the work for me and have the ability to make changes and as you make further mods down stream.

Another option to consider is the Cobra PowerPro Fi2000, call their tech support line for the straight scoop.

Good luck with your decision.

You didn't mention anything about a new head pipe. I wouldn't do anything but slip ons till I could afford SEPST, A/C, slip ons, header and dyno. If you do the slip ons, A/C, tuner and dyno, the cat. converter is still in the head pipe robbing you of power. And if you do the head pipe later (after you've already done the above), you'll likely have to dyno again. The engine is choked up at both ends with a restricted flow air cleaner and a cat. converter. Why open up the front end with the back end still closed off - it still won't be able to "breathe" - makes no sense to me.

Use your money wisely so you get the biggest bang for the buck - just do slip ons till you're ready to decat the head pipe or replace it. That's my $0.02. Good Luck.

Forget the dealer and go see Doc. You're a short ride away from one of the best in the country.

My guess is $280 from the dealer gets a canned map and dyno sheet, not a dyno tune. Tune is the most important part of any performance gain. Find the best tuner in your area and buy the tuner he recommends. TTS/PV/SEPT all have nearly the same functions and basically do the same things.
