Default K&N Style Air Filter for 2014 Stock Breather

I bought a 2014 Street Glide back in December. I'm getting ready to put aftermarket pipes on it. I wanted to change the air filter out to a high flow air filter also. The thing is, I like the looks of the stock breather, and since it's open in the front, I don't see the point in changing out the whole breather. I went to the dealer to see if I could just get a K&N or equivalent air filter to go in my stock breather. They said they didn't have that and wanted to sell me a complete SE air breather kit. The price wasn't bad, but that's just not what I want. I've looked on Ebay and J&P cycles and haven't had much luck finding a K&N filter for the 2014 breather. Is there anyone here that has changed their's out to an aftermarket filter? If so, what brand was it, and where did you get it?

Also, this is my first fuel injected Harley. I've been told to stay away from the Power Commander V because of issues with rainy weather riding. Apparently the plugs aren't water proof. What do you guys recommend for fuel management?

The MoCo does have a K&N Filter for the 2014 model year.

Not sure of fit but you could see if it will fit with the backing plate of the stage 1 kit. They offer a Stage 1 filter kit for around $149.00. If so, you might be able to keep your stock A/F cover. Also they do now have some inserts for your stock A/F cover to make it your own.

If so, the K&N Filter is $59.00 part no# 29400085. It looks like a prefect replacement but not sure. Plus MOST of the time, parts counter folks at the dealerships aren't really "on top of their game".

As far as turners, my choice would be a TTS Mastertune Turner!

Good luck,

YB

Thanks Yellowbird. Like you say, could be the parts counter guy I talked to just didn't know what he was talking about. There are several HD dealers in my area. I'll give a different one a call tomorrow and see what kind of answer I get from them. I might try to call K&N also.

I have the stage I air cleaner on my '14. Stock filter cover fits over it just fine.

SE AC, you use your stock cover.

K&N makes a filter for it.

And as far as tuner, TTS is good, had one, but I'm going to put a PV2 on my '14.

K&N does not show a filter for 14's as they are different for stock housing. I signed up on their site for email when available. stage 1's fit not stock replacement. Mike

Here is the part http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...ir-cleaner-kit

Fits under stock cover and it's washable just like the K&N

it is a dry filter so probably not a k&n. I will wait for the drop in from k&n. Mike

I'm also looking to do what you did. I need more air but like the stock cover. Just to confirm, you got the stage 1 air cleaner kit 29400129 for your 2014 street glide and the stock cover fit over it?
