I would think that you could use an ice pick or something small to get that other half out.

Do you mean that you still have the back half still in there that is round? If so, run in a longer screw of the correct thread and gently pull on it.

Its in there pretty good afraid of damaging the inner faring the brass insert snap in half...Anyone else have this problem

Yeah, I had to drill one out once. Very, very carefully!

Do you have a set of easy outs you can try that. if not just drill it out carefully using drills a little bit bigger than the minor thread diameter then going up 1/32nd at a time until you get to the major diameter size then pick the remaining threads out. good luck and take it slow.
