Just picked up a copy of American Rider and saw the ad for this trans. oil , synthetic 75w140from Spectro. Ad claims it was designed just for these new 6 speed trannies. Any thoughts , anybody using it yet??
Spectro makes a very good oil and many OEM's private label it (BMW is one I can recall). Pick an oil and try it - personally, I use Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof oil in the tranny although I have a 2005 with a 5 speed. I'd use it a 6 speed if I had one - just my preference.
like ted i also use redline but spectro is fine the only thing with the redline is that it is red so if theres ever a leak i know where its coming from
I'm using the redline 75-250 right now and have tried others for my 5th & 6th gear chatter but I really doubt if anyone is making a gear oil"just" for a six speed transmisson.
