Default Power Vision and stock bikes

$500 clams is a lot of money for me. I'd like to hear from anyone with a basically stock bike. The only changes I've made is a decat of the headpipe and a KN air filter. Would I benefit from a PV tuner? I'm riding a 2012 Ultra.

Thanks,

David

I can't say what will happen with your bike but for me, I feel like I'm running great. The tune will give you more power, cooler engine and fuel economy at just about near stock level. Plus, it's fun to play with.

Some people get by doing nothing or doing Xieds but for me it felt better knowing that I'm riding a well-tuned bike. Also, if you change your mind down the line with any other changes, the tuner will re-tune your bike.

your mods are asking for an adjustment... don't tell me you are running your bike with the stock tune?

I got PV and I LOVE it (see signature for engine mods).
on top of the (re)tune, you get a lot of options with the PV, like all kind of stats, etc.... if you are into that. I am a "bit" ****...
FuelMoto can help you out, they are awesome.. and lifetime support / maps...

Mine is hooked up permanent to the bike (top middle of the fairing - created my own clamp bracket between windshield and fairing and cut a small hole in the edge of the inner fairing so the cable is nicely tucked away. total cost was about 7 bucks and painter painted the bracket for free when I had my parts painted.

2011 S.G. 103 still has the cat but has Power Vision from F.M. jackpot slips 3.5 inch and a FM A/C.....The bike runs great of course its still a little hot on really hot days but by spring it will be gone and I will have a Fuel Moto catless header........Now its not a race bike but it gets along just fine it hauls my fat *** around and my wife to no problem.... Get ahold of Jamie with Fuel Moto they will explain things better their the pros

Yes Fuel Moto support alone will make it worth it. They have tons of maps on file and from what i read and understand they are easy to tweek your tunes and also pull codes when needed.

Yes.

I ran my bike stock with a PV for about a month when I was waiting for my head pipe. You will get a bigger bang-for-the-buck out of a PV than you will with any exhaust or air cleaner.

I see your living in east Texas so I know your riding in the 100+ degree heat in our summers. You already de-catted the head pipe so get the PV and richen the tune up a bit and the bike should run noticeably cooler and have less ping in the hot summer. You will probably feel a nice power boost as well! My vote is a tuner is always a good thing even on a stock bike. These things are EPA lean to start with so the tuner will make a stock bike run better.

If you want to save some $$ you could go with the Power Commander V. It's a piggy-back tuner vs flash tuner and you'll need a PC to update MAPs via USB. You can find them used in the Touring classifieds for around $200. That being said I use the Power Vision and love it.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the info. rbferg, not really interested in a piggy back tuner, and not really interested in "cheaper". Just wanted to make sure that it was money well spent.
