Default 2009 Road King (Classic)

I was just randomly looking over the used inventory of dealers in my state, just aimlessly wandering, and happened upon a '09 RKC that really grabbed me. A paint set I hadn't seen before, and some nice adds that I'd probably consider anyway. 21k on the clock.

I've got an email in to them asking about the asking price.

What would I be getting myself into? Were there any major issues with '09s? Anything that needs looked at, or would/should it be just a buy-n-ride the F out of it type of deal?

you can check kbb.com for pricing

09's are great- no mandated catalytic convertor, and other regs that came in 2010.

google the vin and you may get more info on the bike

try to get records on the bike, you don't want one that's been in flood or crashed

Great bike. No any big issues, but there is a firmwear update on the 09 ABS and a recall on the rear brake switch. Neither are a big deal. The only other problem with the 09 thru 2013 engines engines is the compensator which is about a $500 fix, so you might check on that.

Not much difference between an '09 and '13. They are great buys/blank canvas!

'09 was a great year. At 21k, it's probably had all recalls done if it's been to a dealer for any reason. I say go for it.

Great bike, as mentioned not any major recalls, no cat. I put the SE 255's, PVC, Pipes and SE A/C and have not had any issues. Runs awesome...
