Need opinions....
Hi All -
I am going to paint my inner fairing, but I want to something different. The hook is that my Ultra is Vivid Black. So I came up with an idea to do a two tone inner with the outer color of the inner being Vivid Black and the inner color of the inner being silver to match the pin striping. That way if I decide I want to do some ghost flames or something else to the Black it will all blend in. Here is an example of what I as thinking it would look like. The Red would be Black and the Black would be Silver.

Opinions??? Other options???? I just am looking for something a little different without going nuts!
Thanks,
Mark

It is just had to do something to a Black bike without making a commitment if you know what I mean. Since I don't know where I want to go with the bike I don't want to set the direction then have to change it later. I was planning on doing this and the comments that I have received in this short time is confirming my direction. Unless I hear something that sets it up as a mistake I will paint it two tone. I will post pics when I get it done if anyone is interested.....

I'll say that you may end-up with too much silver in the faring if all you have is silver pin stripes on that black bike. Now if you quickly add more silver to the bike, that's a different story.
A slightly less amount of silver might work better. I had a 2004 Ultra, smokey gold and black, and had the inner faring painted. I had the guage and speaker holes painted smokey gold, then had that feathered-out back to the vivid black. Maybe that would be another option to consider with your faring by painting those same gauge and speaker holes silver, then feather out to vivid black. Here is a couple of pictures to give you an idea of what I did:

Here's a better idea and it should come close to matching your paint too.

That is a good point and defiantly something to consider. I am looking at a two stage change over, but it will be funds dependent. I am doing the inner now because I have to replace it. (stupid mistake issues). I want to add either some ghost smoke, flames, or ripped details. I thought that when I added the ghosting it would help to balance out the amount of silver on the inner. However your point is taken.... Thanks!
