Default slip-on exhaust systems

I own an '06 electraglide with the stock mufflers and would appreciate some input on sound improvement. I am aware that there are many after market brands on the market but I do not want to end up with a bike that sounds like a top-fuel dragster!I want to keep it stereo friendly. Any input would be appreciated. thanks

Exhaust sound is subjective to personal taste, no one can decide what you will like, only you.

I suggest hanging around an H-D dealer's parking lot on a warm Saturday and

listen to the bikes that roll in. Find the sound you like and talk to the owner

of the bike. Poker runs and other events are also a good way to listen to

many different bikes.

that's the best advice you can get.

some guys here are on their 3rd or 4th exhaust system- $$$$

sound is very subjective, and some balance a "sound" for a performance reason

I have Rinehart 3.5 slipons with V&H power duals. Pick your poison, there's plenty to chose from. No wrong answers here...

You live in California, hit up some bike nights and hear them in person.

I have the RC Custom Excalibur and they have a nice not too loud sound but open up when I get on it. Great looking also IMO. But my next will be true dual with the V&H Big Radius.

The largest good shop around is Wright Bros in Yucaipa. He has bikes stacked every
which way and a long line of customers. Go in and speak to Dennis, owner, and he'll
help you and not just sell you. Lots of stuff to hear there too. Dennis is a straight
shooter but won't waste time BS'n on the phone - why I said stop by to talk to him.

I second the 4" Rineharts! They have a distinct sound, deep rumble but radio friendly when crusing. If u leave the stock header on the bike it will not be real loud because the converter "cat" muffles the sound considerably. With the VH power duals and 4" Rineharts the bike is pretty loud when on the gas hard but I have no problem hearing the radio running a steady 85mph down the hwy.
