Do you have any pictures of your setup? Did you mount yours down near the base of the bars?

One of the things I did not like about the ram mount is how it attaches to the bars the motomount is definitely cleaner and takes up less space
I have a garmin zumo mounted with the motomount and the short ram arm and zumo bracket. I have it up the bar on the clutch side so I can use it with my hand still close to the bar and don't need to look way down when riding.

I know you already got something, but I'm going to go with the Cell Buckle. I was in the same spot then I remembered about the Cell Buckle, it's $15 and you take it off when not in use. So I don't have worry about what it looks like, and I can mount it where I want for the day. It's pretty cool, J&P also has a video about it. Here's the link if you still want to check it out.

Here is my set up with a RAM mount and the USB power. Very clean set up and keeps my phone charged with no issues.

I have an IPhone4s in a LifeProof case, I use the LifeProof handlebar mount and it works great. Don't really use it because I use Bluetooth for music and directions so it sits in a pocket.

Riders claw. It's made to hold YOUR phone and to do so securely and out of the way. No comparison...

There are no smaller mounts and it can be mounted on either side.

Thanks for the pictures and links.

Remember I was looking specifically for mounting on a RK at the base of the bars and not something that attaches to the top of the bars

This mount works very well. Sturdy mount that bolts to your handlebar. This can be moved to any position for easy visibility. Uses OEM Ram components. You can also use your smartphone as a GPS if you need to.

This can be purchased at GPS Bike Mount - http://www.gpsbikemount.com/ramhandlebarmountkit.html

I've been looking at the Techmount as well for a couple months with similar setup as the last pics you have. Nice clean setup for an RK. Thinking of going with that setup.

A friend has the motomount for a Zumo on her Deluxe. Clean looking as well.

I won`t mount anything on my bike that could distract me; there`s too much out there to make up for that already. I may even remove the cup holder that came with the bike.
