Default Why is my exhaust louder on one side?

Had a buddy over last night to show him my new 4" jackpots on my 11'. I had him rev it up while I was standing a few feet behind it and noticed the right side was a little louder. Is this due to still having the cat, stock head pipe and crossover pipe?

Take a good look at the crossover pipe. It'll probably answer your question.

The majority of the exhaust exits out the right side pipe with a 2-1-2 exhaust no matter if it's the stock header of the power duals I have. It's just physics, the gas wants to take the path of least resistance. With the smaller crossover pipe and two 90 degree turns it's just the way it is.

It was true with your stock mufflers, just the 4" jackpots sound so good it is more noticeable. All bikes except with true duals have one header/muffler combo that is less restrictive. But, it is that mix that generally allows 2-1-2 pipes to offer more power and easier to enhance performance than true duals. But true duals do have a different sound. On my touring bike I prefer 2-1-2, my others true duals.

Were you listening with the same ear? Sometimes when I change ears things sound differently.

Put your hand behind each muffler with the bike idling and feel the amount of exhaust coming out of each one. Mine has more pressure coming from the from the right therefore, more sound.

My left side Jackpot muffler appears to have a restriction in it. If I look into the baffle I can see it. The right baffle is the same diameter from front to rear.
