Default Yaffe 12" Monkey Bars for long distance

Hello All,

I have searched lots of threads about the mechanics of installing 12 inch Yaffe Monkey Bars and have seen lots of pics. The question I have is, do any of you have these bars and ride 300 to 500 in a day? If so, are they comfortable for the whole ride? I have sat on several bikes that have them, but haven't ridden with them or obviously spent any time in the saddle using them.

Thank you

Magnus

I have them on mine and they were just as comfortable around town as they are on long runs. I took a road trip out to Vegas last June with them, (5000 miles in two weeks) and found them to be very comfortable.

I agree with ^^^^^, I actually had 12's just went to 14's my 12's got bent in a trailer mishap! They're great bars, my issue is more with a comfy seat for a long ride...

Depending on your height and riding form, 10" - 14" bars put you in a better riding form (upper body, shoulders, back and arms). You might have to sit on bike and shoot a few measurements for which height works best, but either height will give you improved comfort over stock.

I had 14s on my Road King and now have 12s on my Street Glide. Both are super comfortable. I'm basically 6 ft tall and both sets put my hands just under my shoulders. I've ridden as much as 400 miles in a day and had no problems. These bars put me in a much more comfortable riding position than stock or the beach bars I used to have. Highly recommend for short or long trips.

I'm 6'4" and put between 15k and 21k a year on bikes. I have two, one that is more a work bike and beater that I will rack up miles on, and the weekender or travel bike. Both have Burly 13" Bagger bars on them. Not the same bar, but still about the same height. I love them, have ran that height for near 20 years now. It's one of the first mods I do to any bike I have. Only thing that you will likely notice is that you may have to lean forward a bit on low speed tight turns, to keep both hands on the bar.

Most I've done on my 12" yaffes is 250 miles in a day, there was no feeling of fatigue. The bars are completely comfortable.
