I am running 05 SG wheels on my 99 Ultra with different wheel bearings. What you will need to do is get the OD size of the 08 & the 3/4" ID for the 92. Then if you measure the spacing on the wheels to see what spacers you might need.

I used to know all the axle sizes (by year)...but my memory is shot. I'm thinking that the 2008 has the 25mm...and yours are 3/4".

You should be able to find the appropriate bearings to make it work.

'Usually' when people are asking this question, it's because they are getting a really good deal on a set of 'take off' wheels. Be cautions, if that's your situation, as it can get pricey making stuff fit right.

The bearings/axle size will probably be the easy part, making sure the rotors/pulley are properly sized and fit the hub will be your bigger issue. You will (likely) need to have the center bore of the rear pulley increased to clear the 'lip' on the newer wheel...rotors are likely the same, unless you are getting the newer rotors with the new wheels.

When I did mine (1999 RK), I got a set of forks and a swingarm from a newer bike to make the swap easier. I also upgraded to newer 4-piston brake calipers - all parts were used/take-offs to keep costs down.

As Jumpman says, your bike has 3/4" ID bearings and the 08 has 25mm. However the later wheels also have larger diameter housings for the bearings, so your rotors and Rear Pulley will not swap over. The later wheel will also not work with your current rear brake or rotor.

The 08 wheels are not a direct swap and installing them will require quite a bit of effort. When I swapped rear wheels on my 1990 bike I also change swingarm and brake caliper. If you would like more details ask!

The front won't be too big a problem but the rear is gonna take some machine work.

Nice.

I think I would focus on the front wheel first. If you are getting rotors with the wheels, that will be the easier swap.

As others have said...the rear will be the bigger task.

Good luck.
