I like ABS have had it on my last two bikes, if you're using the brakes properly you'll almost never know it's there. I've been riding since the late 70's and was indifferent to ABS on bikes, I'm a believer now. It really gives me piece of mind when riding in the rain, my last 5 day trip I had 4 days of rain and liked that it was there though I never engaged it. Yes get it IMHO.

Oh you'll like the ABS brakes there a must have. The first time I had to us them it scared to crap out me no skidding all stop, the pedal bouncing up and down no feathering needed. Like I Said go for the ABS brakes. All of the rest is add-ons and the part are out there.

I have a 2013 Anniversary Edition Road King with the upgraded chrome version of the standard mag wheels. I would trade you in one second if you decieded you didn't want want those spokes. I'll pay shipping for both partys. I love spokes and white walls and don't give a hoot about even upgraded chrome mags. So if that's the deal breaker, just let me know! And yes, mines ABS.

I vote to include ABS 800 bux in the context of getting a new bike is nothing and if it saves your and or your wifes hide one time...... no brainer

I have a '12 Road King with Security/ABS. Didn't want to pay for them either, but that's the way it came from the factory and it was year end so options for other Road Kings were naught. However, now that the $1,200 sting is pretty much behind me, I'm glad it has both. For safety, security and resale (as someone above said).

ABS was one of reasons I finally got rid of my '05. And, you will find yourself enjoying the cruise control...Which I assume it has. Too many people have talked about how ABS "Saved their ***".

I was in a similar situation but I was shopping used bikes. I looked at a 2011 Road King without ABS (I sort of had my mind set on a RK). However, I really wanted the ABS so I decided to wait. I ended up buying an 09 Electra Glide Classic with removeable tour pak because it had ABS but also all the other gadgets. I had the ABS on a previous adventure style bike I had and really wanted it on the new Harley. Its one of those things that you dont need until you "really need it". ABS has been standard on almost all other variants of motorcycles for a while now. If it were me I would get it.

Good Luck and let us know.

Got a 2013 Road King with ABS, Cruise and Security System and from my experience, I predict you will be happy with the ABS on the Road King.
