Confused, are reflex breaks the same as ABS?

 

No they work when you apply one they both are applied. ABS is a system that wont let your wheels lock up when braking fast or in poor conditions.

 

No the reflex brakes are a fancy name for the braking system. They are now linking the front and rear brakes when under 20mph. If you hit the back brake pedal it will automatically apply one of the disks up front. If you hit the front brakes it will also apply the rear brake. ABS is just like in your car.

 

Are they on the standard street glide and SGS?

 

Actually the Dynamic Linked Brake System works above 20mph not below.
The metric bikes have used this brake system for a while with great results.

ABS will not allow the wheels to lock up and skid, it will pulse the calipers when it is activated to bring you to a safe stop.

 

Dynamic Linked Brakes are standard for all 2014 Touring models, ABS is still optional.

Reflex™ Linked Brakes with ABS: All 2014 Harley-Davidson Touring models are available with the new Reflex Linked Brakes with ABS as either Original Equipment or as a factory-installed option. Reflex Linked Brakes combine ABS with electronically linked brakes that dynamically optimize front/rear brake balance. Linked braking is activated when the motorcycle is above 20 to 25 mph. If braking is initiated at slower speeds the front and rear brakes function independently.
