What did you pay for your 2014 Ultra Limited
I went to the local dealer today looking for a 2014 Daytona Blue Pearl Ultra Limited. He quoted me $27,164 for the bike, $2000 additional cost because this color was in "high demand", $750 shipping, $750 dealer prep plus 8.25% sale tax (Texas State Sales Tax).
The only thing that he was will to negotiate on was the $2000 additional mark-up but it didn't sound like he was going budge too much on this.
What did you pay? What's a reasonable offer?
I know that these bikes are in demand but this seems high.
I'm still trying to decide if I'm better off selling by 2005 Wide Glide or trading it in. Trading it in is simpler but I'm now anticipating that he will low ball the value.

I think you should take both options into consideration. These days, I guess that HD used bikes will fall in price. Therefore get an offer old vs new. Check on the internet where are the used bike prices.
BTW, charging 2000 $ just because the color is "high demand". F... the dealer. This is something we don't know in Europe. Pricelist, that's it. Yes all prices in Europe are higher. My limited was 37'000 $ incl VAT (official list price)

If a dealer wanted to charge me an additional $2,000 because a color is in "high demand" I'd find a different dealer. Even if he knocks it off he's gotten you to pay full MSRP and make you think you're getting a deal. I certainly understand having to pay MSRP and having to put down a deposit for the new 2014, they are awesome and in high demand, just don't be shady about it. I'd tell the dealer to just give me my bill for MSRP along with my parts/accessories/apparel discount and/or credit and be done. I can only speculate you'd be hard pressed to find a deal on 2014 Ultra Limited given the local inventory (or lack there of).

I noticed your in Texas, where at in Texas? This seems to be common in Texas in both Dallas and Houston from my experience and other I have read on here. Since we can ride all year long the dealers seem to be able to sell bikes at MSRP all day long without having to lower the price. I had to pay MSRP for my 2014 SG as well. I checked all three dealers here and none were budging off MSRP. You can go to Oklahoma and get a better deal but it wasn't worth my time...lol

I'm in Austin and hit the local dealership by my house. Next step is to head down to San Antonio. I can hit 3 other dealerships within about a 90 minute drive. I understand they can probably hold to MSRP given the current demand. But.... is $750 for shipping and another $750 for dealer setup the going rate? I was thinking that there might be some room here for negotiation. I had a friend that worked for a metric shop and he indicated that their dealer prep was about an hour process and performed by a low to mid level tech. If this is similar with HD (which I'm admitting that I really don't know what goes into their dealer prep), $750 seems like a lot of money for this.

I paid msrp and $435 for freight, (that's what they even have listed on the HD website)
and that was October 1st! I would print out a copy of the page with the price of the bike you want and rip them a new one. Make enough of a scene and either you will get a reasonable deal, or u can scare away some of their customers walk away empty handed, and move on to the next stealer. Either way, good luck.

I got a great price on a 2014 vivid black ultra limited being delivered in March of $24500 out the door no shipping or set up.I have been told never pay for set up and have heard the actual cost for delivery is $350-400.00. Living in NH its nice we don't have sales tax. After I made the deal I did see on another thread this link kinda makes me feel I could of gotten a little better deal but still feel good about it and that's what matters.
