It's unreal how badly I type things on this forum. In my last post I meant that I haven't used the CB yet not CD!!!! I hope that was somewhat obvious. My fat fingers need to go on a diet.

I cut each antenna down 8 inches and then adjusted the CB load for the shorter length and I am good to go. The antenna's clear with room to spare. There are proceedures in the service manual to adjust the CB Load.

I didn't spend a dime and I solved the problem in my garage.

Good Luck.

I ordered a set of the Freedom Cycle antennas. Do the old ones just unscrew and you screw in the Freedom Cycle ones???

Pretty much that's it. Lift up the rubber, undo the allen screw and unscrew the.

Litle locktite (blue) on the screw mount, and screw the new ones on.

Let us know what effect the CB antenna has...I get great range and reception with the stock whip, but if these Freedom Cycles ones work....I'm gettin' 'em!

The Freedom Cycle antenna have equal range as compared to the whips. One added plus is you can cover your bike with little hassle and limited risk of snapping them off. I just thought I would throw that in. No one had brought that up yet.
