This is how I roll....

RE: This is how I roll....
Whiskers- Thanks! It is polished cast aluminum. It shows pretty good up against my chrome. I almost had it PC black but I'm glad I left it natural now.
electaRICK - I wouldn't call it smart just creative. One thing is for surethough - I didn't ride the "short bus" to school [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
One more thing re: my "docking station" what I didfor a non-slip only grip finish (because paint onlyon top of the 3/4" plywood would make for a nearly ice skating rink like condition...) was I took a 5 gallon pail and filled it 1/4 way with sandand I filled the remaining portion of the bucket up with outdoor latex paint. I rolled that crap on in the sun (several coats) and I have a grippy finish like non other. It is much cheaper than 3M adhesived backed grip tape and it covers 100% of the surface as opposed to only areas where tape is. This stuff is as durable as epoxy coating for floors (....well almost).
I also added eye bolts to it with ratcheting straps. I do this if my kids are running around in the garage and they decide to use the bike as a jungle jim. Although, I don't think 3 grown men could push it off the stand if they tried. It is the inherent design of these wheel chocks that are ingenious IMHO.
And I do have to say this was one the best ideas I came up with for my garage. On nice days I'll pull my "docking station" out into the driveway (as in my picture) and do my detail work there. From top to bottom.
