Default 2013 Road King

Wonder if any of you guys have some ideas for me? I am only 5'7" I have a 2013 Road king. The handle bars sit way to far forward for me. Can I just roll the bars back? Or do I have to replace them with somthing else? If so what? Love the look of apes, but can't go to tall be cause of my limited reach. Thanks in Advance

I like the heritage bars on mine and didn't require new cables. Made a big difference.

I am 6 foot, long torsoed and above average arm length and the bars are too far forward for me as well. I am looking at wild1 chubbies 502 12.5 inch apes. they make a 10 inch as well...i didnt like the feel of thew heritage bars but they may fit your physique

Yes. I have the same problem with most Harleys I test ride, as if a gorilla sets them up at the factory! Don't go blowing out on new bars until you've tried to get the best out of your own.

I found it took me several attempts with my own bike. One of the challenges is that once the bars are free to move, they may do so suddenly, so you don't recall where they were! If you take a photo of the bike sideways on (or with you seated on it) you can more easily compare before and after. Look to get them so your shoulders are relaxed and not hunched.

Yup, it's not your height, it's the nature of the beast. That's why HD changed em for 2014. Many here say the '14s will fit w/o cables, but my dealership says no. So, I'll probably be goin to the Heritage bars also.

I put the 2014 RK bars on my 2004 RKC and they fit fine with no cable adjustments.

I completely agree. I have no idea what Harley was thinking with those bars. They are the most worthless, uncomfortable pieces of junk. They are probably great on a smaller chassis, like a softail, but are horrible on a touring bike. The bars were one of the first things I changed on my '13. Had I wanted a simple bolt on set, and not apes, the Heritage bars would have been my choice. Swapping to taller risers with Mocos "Slammer" riser conversion kit is an ever simpler alternative, as with taller risers, the factory bars become more useable.

The craziest thing about is bars is: if you ask 10 different people on what is the best set of bars are, you'll get 10 different answers. Only you can decide. The best thing is to sit on a bike and check out the different bars. I have a set of WO 513's and they work great for me! Good luck on your search...

The stock bars were very uncomfortable for me too. 12.5 '' Chubby apes work great for me at 5' 11''.
