I'm 5'4" and went through several handlebars before I found comfort. I have the later model (09-up) Heritage handlebars on it. Go to the dealer and check out them and the 2014 RK bars. The RK bars may be less work since they are notched for TBW.
5'8" and went with heritage bars also, great fit and no cable replacement needed. Adjust/rotate to your liking. Be sure and get the notched bars for TBW.
I'm the same height as you and I had a chubby Heritage-style bars put on mine, as I wanted all internal wiring. The dealer service tech had me sit on the bike and adjusted the bars to my liking. Very comfy now.
One thing about the road king handlebars is you really cannot roll them back-and-forth to produce any kind of significant results. Apes are a different story. You can roll them a bunch for different pull back lengths and a different feel. I'm 5'6" and really like my 16s.....
Another vote for the Heritage Style bars for the Road King - no more back aches. I ordered them when I bought the bike - the first week before they came in I was hurting bad. New bars - no problems.
I read these threads with great interest and find the "Heritage" or "Heritage Style" bars mentioned often. Is there a single part number or model or is it a range of bars? Interested for my '09 RK.
