Default Do I have aftermarket cams? (Video link)

So I got my 2002 Road King, original owner, low miles all that good stuff. Dealer didn't have to do much to sell, they knew it had what mods they saw on the outside: slip-ons, air charger/intake, and a screaming eagle tuner.

I found a dyno sheet inside the big 02 Service Manual in one of the hard bags, and the tuning shop noted my bike had a 95" SE big bore kit too, score!

Took a quick video today, on a VERY cold start, think it has a cam too? Certainly shakes around a bit more than my 05 Dyna did, but maybe that's just the big bore kit.

Thoughts?

If you have a super tuner, you should be able to upload the tune that is in the VCI and it should tell you cams, displacement stage 1 or 2 etc

I think it's the race tuner? Good call, didn't think of doing this, or I did but I didn't want to screw anything up since it runs so great now!

If it had a decent cam, you would NOT need cold start to tell. Cold start runs rough for various reasons. A set of cams like 204s will tell you at idle at ANY time you listen.

They only sure way to tell is to pull cam cover and look. SERT will NOT tell you anything as far as what cams are in there. One can NOT pull a tune up with the Race Tuner. Didn't you see this is an 02 bike?

Just ride it and enjoy it until it breaks. THEN you can go look. Nice bike BTW.

I guess I would have to ask myself why would a guy go to the trouble of a 95" kit and not do cams? It sounds good and to my old ears sounds like there may be some better cams in that bike than stock.

That's basically what I'm thinking.

It's not about how it sounds ona cold start, I was just trying to start a discussion, and it happens to be freaking COLD out there today

ANyways... I think it might but who knows for sure.

Take care, fellas. Thanks.

I agree with the others, that sure sounds like it has some sort of performance cams in there.

As to doing a 95" kit without cams, I did that on a 2003 Softail Standard I had years ago. Did not have the money to go cams and such so I just had the dealer do the jugs and a reflash. Ran very good, but the exhaust would glow a bit red in the dark at the cylinders. Cams would probably have helped that.
