No. I didn't change mine; I was concerned about that too, but after install, it's actually just fine, I did adjust the angle of the lever to put it closer to my boot though. I have small feet, though, larger shoe sizes, maybe, but I have plenty of space behind my foot on the board as it is now.

On my 2014 SG with a Heavy Breather, and looking at how close the exhaust is to the boards, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna want the 3/4" spacer kit from them too... But that's $60. Yikes. Could just use spacer shafts and buy some longer bolts, but I'm positive I'd like that; I wanna research the lean tolerance though.

No, but it's nice. You can just rotate it down. Extended levers over +1 are not recommended if you have lowers tho.
