Every vehicle I've ever owned, I've slapped on a K&N.......it's what I do......
With the new air box on the 2014's, is there a need? Aren't they already supposed to be a "higher" flow? Also, if I'm just going to put on new mufflers, can I leave the stock air filter?
They say that it flows better than other years, but I like K&N also. I bought the SE Stage1 AC from HD(29400129) and then replaced their non oiled filter with a K&N one. I havent installed the head pipe or slip ons yet but you can alraedy hear it pulling the air in alot more than the stock filter did. I like the original cover so thats why i went this route.

I purchased a 2013 SG in August and the dealer told me then that if I'm just taking the old mufflers off (not headers) and replacing them with a different muffler (in my case Screaming Eagle slipons) there is no need to change the stock air filter.
I did that for a while but after a couple months I updated to a Stage 1 HD Heavey Breather and a Fuel Pak monitor system.
