i agree.
tan or rusty colored = correct mixture
black = rich
white = lean
oily = real ugly mess!!!!

You cant really tell that way, the front cyl runs richer at idle because of the way the stock exhaust is made. To get a correct plug reading,Put in a fresh set of plugs and run bike around for awhile at good speed, interstate or other take it to 60-70 and cruise for a few minutes then kill engine and coast to stop. Now pull plugs and go by color. This is the only waty to get a correct plug reading. Just another note, you may have more of a white plug than tan due to the gas additives used today.

Thanks for the info. This is what I didso far. I installed the Fullsac Kit and a new set of stock HDplugs just like the ones I removedto see ifthe Fullsac system makes a difference. I haven't had the bike out yetbecause it snowed hereFriday andyesterday All I can do know ishope the snow (apx.10") melts fast so I can take the bike for a ride and see if this changes anything.

I switched from the HD Platinum plugs to NGK Iridium plugs last summer and have had no problems with lean/rich discoloration of the plugs. Not sure if its the new plugs or me driving like a madman...[:'(]

Anyway, the bike seems like it has more power and getup-n-go with these new plugs.

Here is a good link for sparkplug reading -

http://www.dansmc.com/Spark_Plugs/Sp...s_catalog.html

But it is difficult to get a good reading on the plugs with all the additives in the gas now, but it will give you a general idea of how you are running.

I took the bike out last weekend and did close to 450 miles, (I installed a new set of stock HD plugs)I pulled the plugs and they look clean and white no deposits . No color change from new. What do you think? MPH was 42 bike runs great as it always has (5,200 miles) I found this pic of someone Else's plugs, and this is what mine look like
