It's bad and costly. you don't run it long enough to undo the drain on the battery from starting, the warm up cool down creates condensation inside the engine and exhaust. Just leave her alone.

Thanks guys. Just the advice I was looking for. Although tempting ill wait it out. Bought it in late September and didn't get much ride time in this year. Guess I'm like kid with a new toy who can't play with it. Oh well at least I can look at it.

Leave it sit. No reason to start it up if you don't run it long enough to burn off the moisture it worst for it than sitting. Even if you do warm it up good they cooling cause moisture . Park it and let it be.

You can sit on it and make vroom vroom noises. You can even do this WITH a beer in your hand and no worries about getting a DUI. "Officer, the bike never moved. It wasn't even running, sir."

MY QUESTION on this subject.

Got a small, 12x24 well insulated shop. Took the bikes, (2) out for a nice winter ride on Wend. rolled them into the shop when we got home. Shop temp went from 45* to 82* What do I need to do the fire up one or the other, run them for 1/2 hour plumbing exhaust out, blowing an old Vornado fan across the motor to keep the shop 60+*?` Would really love an H-D heated shop! They are air-cooled, doesn't that mean air heated shop? If I tried this probably end up CO poisoning myself.

Any help?

Central Ks.

P.S. it is now 21* freezing rain/6-8 in of snow forecasted for the weekend.

Thumbs up Cosset Your Scoot

Moisture is the enemy....engine running=heat....cool down=condensation....so here in wet and cold Scotland I use a double skinned carbon filtered air fan unit...in an unheated garage.....once the bike is dry the "air tent" is closed and dry air circulated......this being the same method used to store classic cars.
