Default RK handlebars

Just picked up my new 06 RK Classic. Love the ride, traded my 05 Softail standard for the 06 RK. No regrets. Don't like the RK handlebars. They seem a little too short, and I think that's why I had a back-ache. Any suggestions on replacement handlebars. Would like them a little longer and would like to not have to replace all cables. Any suggestions?

you can switch to the Road King High handle bars, from harley for about 50 bucks, and you wont have to change any cables. the brake line will be a little tight, but it worked for me until i went with the 16 inch apes.

Have you tried adjusting the handlebars? Mine really hurt my wrists until I took the time to loosen the clamp and move them to a comfortable position. It's a pain since you have to disassemble the headlight assembly to take off all the various cover pieces, but hopefully you'll only do this once.

I just put on the Heritage style bars. I rode about 250 miles last weekend. I like them a lot. They are higher and narrower. Best of all, no pains in my back. The stock bars suck! All wires/cables reached just fine. I did have to tweak the brake line a little though.

What's up with the stock bars? Tried adjusting them, but it makes no difference. I want an additional 2 inches so I don't have to sit so far forward. Will look at the heritage and road king high bars. Any other suggestions? Appreciate the help.

Tried the Road King Extended bars yesterday. They seem to be almost the same size as the 06 stock handlebars...what gives? Obviously did not put them on. I guess I will try the Road King High bars. Any other suggestions?

Try the 1 1/4 beach bar. I will probably pick that one up. THey are wider and pull back in more.

Thanks rkoko164, looks like this might be the ticket, especially if I don't have to change the cables etc. I need the bar to be a few inches closer to me, and I think that this might do it. Thanks.
