A better & cheaper way of installing 8'plasma rods
For the DIY'ers, Get a countersink bit,1/8 x 3/4 piece of flat stock. Cut 2 at 8" long, take one and hold it in place on the down bracket of bike. Then mark your two holes, 3 inch on center.Use countersink bit in drill or drill press.Use countersunk flat socket head cap screws & Nyloc nuts for a 2014 Street Glide. For the 2014 Electra glide ultra/limited that plan on using saddlebag filler strip kit, use flat head allen bolts 1/4-20 x 1".[The filler strip has two fixed nuts on them]. <SEE PICS> Under $10.00 bucks, and 20 minuets.

I don't think this can really be considered "cheaper" because you're spending $10. The way they come from CD doesn't require buying anything else. It's a great mod and all, but honestly, the tape that is on the rod is really sufficient for putting on the fascia like recommended. I haven't had any issues at all with mine. Nice work though.

Looks like the pics are rotated counter clockwise, which can screw with your perception - that's the tail housing at the top/left of the pic.
By cheaper, I assume he means as opposed to buying PVC 1/4-round and 3M automotive emblem tape which can run around $15.00 by the time you get them home. (this method keeps you from sticking the rods to your paint by mounting the 1/4-round inside the fender flares and the rods to the 1/4-round.)
