Default In search of mini apes....

Currently running HD reach bar (56176-08), would like to have taller and more pull back, trying to keep my hands behind fairing. I think a 14" will do it, by tipping it more towards me. Problem is can't find one about same width of my reach bar, 32" tip to tip. Most of them are wider and I'll have trouble reaching it at full lock (short arms).

Any suggestions? TIA

Most Apes have more pull back which should negate the short arm thing somewhat...The best advice I can give though is to try some bars and see what you like. I am a big fan of Wild 1 Inc bars...Those are the 12.5s in my signature pic...

I am getting ready to buy a set of WO515's (10") for my Roadking...I know they are about 4" wider tip to tip than stock (WO=36")

I looked at that too. It's too wide. I've sat on several bikes with mini-apes on them, couldn't find one not as wide.

I'm running the HD 12" bars and I really like them. My hands are just above the fairing. I'd think that with 14" bars, you'll have to tip them back considerably, which may make them look a little odd. Don't forget to check the angle your wrists will be at... and that your fairing mirrors will likely be blocked out by your arms. Easy fix on the latter, as long as you don't mind mounting conventional mirrors.

I also would prefer narrower...I think the Roadking police bars are narrower...

I have the WO578 and love them. They are pretty adjustable. The width didn't bother me and they are one of the skinniest

I had som apes that were too wide on my 2001 FXD . I got a tubing cutter and took an inch and a half off each end. You can do it to TBW bars, just requires a littl mor work , and you probably can't take more than an inch off.......
