Default Low-Profile Solo Touring Seat-52000057

I just bought the seat; however, I'm having problems attaching it to the frame on my bike.
I have the bolts to attach the back fo the seat to the frame but it doesn't seem as if the front of the seat attaches to the frame.

Thanks

thats basically the same seat that comes stock on the cvo roadglides. in the front of the seat there is a slot. there is a corresponding tab on the frame of your bike right in front of the gas tank. that tab goes in that slot. the seat is fairly flexible, you might have to 'bend' it a little bit to go on right, but it will.

mustang seat tab was off as well. just bend it the same as the old seat and youll be fine. i called the company first and they said do it. if it broke they would replace it free.

on the newer bikes (2010 up?) the tab is not on the seat, it is on the frame. if you break that tab off, i doubt the seat company is gonna replace it.

the good news is that if you give the seat just a little flex in the middle, it should slip right in.... (yeah, i know, thats what she said )

I went to the local dealer today. They said that it does take a bit of finnesse to get it on. Also, I bought the rear plug to cover the screw ($4.95). Last question, with the solo seat, what do you do with the strap that's from the stock seat. I don't want to cut it off but it doesn't seem possible to remove it without destroying it.

Thanks guys!

Can't remember about the SG but when I installed the solo seat on my RK, I just removed the bracket the strap is on. Check it out...

the bracket is attached to the saddlebag mounting bolt. take the bolt off, and you can remove the bracket then put the bolt back on. leave the bolt just a little loose and you can then work it into the proper location and then tighten it down.

Whats the comfort level of the HD Low-Pro Touring Seat? Is it pretty hard or stiff?

Looking for a good short-run seat (under 500 miles/day) while I get the stock Road Glide Ultra seat cut-up to my specs.

thats gonna be very subjective. i don't find the seat to be all that bad. after a few hours, any seat is gonna hurt, but if you get off and stretch for a couple of minutes, no problem.

if you don't want to get brown, you can use the stock number for the cvo bikes:

52000042 black/grey
52000043 brown/gold
52000056 black/gold

i notice the price has gone up quite a bit since i bought the one for my 2010, i paid $230 shipped. now new castle has them for $294.89 plus shipping. maybe another discounter?

I hated the seat. Kept it for 2 days, then got rid of it. The seat does not easily slide onto the frame as the stock seat does. Once I saw it installed, I thought it was extremely ugly. And, there's not much cushion in the seat. But I'm 178lbs, so I don't have much butt anyway. I found the seat very uncomfortable.
