I've thought about this type of product before, but it requires the bike to have the ignition on or the Accy on. The OP's idea allows the bike's ignition to be off, charge the battery, and still able to monitor the voltage. Much more elegant.

At a couple of dollars, the voltmeter is so inexpensive, I wonder why Battery Tender doesn't produce a Deluxe model incorporating one and sell it for $20 more than the standard unit?

Then just simply wire the volt meter into the line, solder and put shrink tube over it. when you hook it up to the bike youshould see voltage, if not then flip it and use the other end. Then mark that end so you don't have to do it again. paul
Be aware that the seller on top is in China....it shows taking two months to get to my house.

I didn't notice that when I placed the order, and I hate waiting!

Haven't looked to see if there is a US seller. Anyway, I remind myself, I lived this long without it...lol

Thanks again for the great idea Hanny. I'm thinking of leaving mine on the bike so I can monitor voltage from time to time.
