Default parts needed to do the mod

you need one of these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-24V-Mini...item460ffb5bde
and one of these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hopkins-Mfg-...item19e5e983a1
Then just simply wire the volt meter into the line, solder and put shrink tube over it. when you hook it up to the bike youshould see voltage, if not then flip it and use the other end. Then mark that end so you don't have to do it again. paul

having been in the situation where a tender 'looked' like it was doing it's job but killed my battery, i think this is a great idea.

how about a pic of how you wired it up?

I have a cigarette lighter socket mounted by my key switch wired direct to batt. I can check voltage, charge batt, hook up tender, charge my phone and even light a cigarette. Super handy!

Thanks for the great idea, hanny! Although I haven't run into the same situation that prompted your invention, I know it's only a matter of time that I will. So I just ordered the items you mentioned and will work on hooking them up when they arrive.

TIA,

+1 could you scratch out a simply schematic for the electrically challenged? I understand cutting off the cigarette adapter and using the pigtail connector.

Beyond that I am lost.

Appreciate any help.

Hanny,

Does the second pigtail connect to the same point as the first as illustrated below? Or does the second pigtail connect to different terminals inside the meter?

Default About that Plate cover?

So did you have the Yaffe Plate cover custom painted, or did you buy it that way? I see nothing on their site.

Thanks in advance.

have not seen one but normally the volt meter is just hooked in line so you get the voltage reading , the wires do not run through the meter
