I have the H-D adjustable backrest and love it. I rarely anymore ride without it, and I'm NOT a big guy (5'10"/160#, but I am 49 years old!). The backrest, IMO, adds comfort in places you wouldn't first think of. It actually makes it possible for me to relax my legs more than without it (if that makes any sense).

Has anyone installed it themselves? And if so was it difficult? How much was the mounting kit...and was it extra like all the other moco (****) parts?

I've installed the H-D adjustable backrest. It's a piece of cake. The bracket comes with the kit.

I have been dying to find out. I am 6'1" and weigh 350lbs. I am big. My wife is not small. I got the passenger back rest for her and she wont ride without it. I use her as my backrest. Here is MY question. When I have the rider adjustable backrest on. Do you think there will be enough room for her to be comfortable. And I already feel like I sit to close to the tank. Will the backrest really move me that much more forward? I take a lot of rides without her and was considering a mustang solo with backrest. But, the adjustable MOCO is cheaper to add and keep the stock seat. Please, let me know what your thoughts are. -PapaTravis

If you don't want to go the expense of the back rest - give this a try - I have been using it for a few years now and it can extend my riding by HOURS - I got the black and it really does wonders for my lower back.

will probly have to take off with passenger. but thats a good thing. the forword thing can be delt with and is outweighed by the plus side. faverite girl=take off backrest. sm girl=take off backrest. 36,32,36=take off backrest
