Default Help removing fuel pump

I have a 2011 Road King Classic. Trying to get everything out of the tank. I have the fuel filter out but am having trouble getting the fuel pump and fuel level sending unit out, I have loosened them from the tabs in the center just below the opening but it feels like there is still something holding them down when I try to pull them up. Is there an order that I should pull them out? Is there something else holding them down? Any help would be great.

On my 07 FLHR the lower half of the assembly is on a spring loaded hinge. Try taking a long slim screw driver and pushing on the lower half while drawing the whole assembly out. Look inside with a flashlight and inspection mirror to see if it is spring loaded.

See if this will help you out. This is from my 09 service manual. You need to get a service manual. They are a great help.

There is a hose that runs from the pump unit down to the fuel quick disconnect on the bottom of the tank. It's an accordion type hose and will provide just a small amount of flex. Don't cut it or you will have to replace the entire quick disconnect assembly.

Its been awhile since I did mine but once you have everything loose in the tank, you need to wiggle it around and get it passed one of the hoses in there. I think it was on the right hand side of the tank when sitting in the bike. Get a light like someone suggested and you should see the hose that I am talking about.

Be careful on reassembly. Use a small bit of grease on the quick disconnect fitting, and slowly twist it as you reassemble it. Tear the internal O ring, and you'll either have to find the proper size O ring (not a Harley part) or buy that entire hose assembly. If you do, directions on the website here.

Well I got it out. My manual said to rotate it 90 degrees in a clockwise direction, but the only way I could get it out was by moving the bottom of the pump to the back of tank sort of tilting and then feeding it up through the hole. It took a while to figure out but it's out. The edges of the hole are a little sharp so I tried to be careful not to cut any of the hoses while pulling it out. Thanks for all the suggestions.
