I thought the 12 1/2 412's might be a good compromise. I have been holding off replacing the stock shocks hoping I could buy a better shock but the 412's really fit my budget the best.
Unfortunately I won't get them on until Spring and the reviews I found said they are definitely an improvement over stock without breaking the bank. My Super Glide rode 100x better with the cheap stock coil springs as compared to the Street Glide air shocks. Last night I bought a set of LA Choppers 1" lowering blocks so instead of increasing 1/2" I'll be lowering 1/2". I wish I would have gotten the 13" for the little more travel than the 12.5" but I'm sure all will be fine.

My Dad and I recently installed 13 inch Progressive 412's on our Electra Glides, but we can't try them out till April. Winter sucks ***. Our stock air shocks wouldn't hold any air at all.

Well, I guess I'm not going to be dropping it because the kit I bought does not fit the '09 FLHX but the '10-'11. Guess I should have read the fine print a little closer. It's going up in the classifieds here in a few minutes.

Ok, so I'm biggish at 225 and my old Lady is not a skinny minnie (around 200), I have to air up to a full 35psi to keep from bottoming out when we go 2 up with weekend gear, but the shocks are usually an everyday refill, so they need to be replaced anyways.

Are there any other folks out there that have the 412 HDs and might be a little heavier load like me and the OL?

I was actually thinking about the HD shocks, I ride solo about 75% of the time, but when I go out with the OL it would be nice to have a shock that I do not have to mess with.

I weigh 275 and the ol is a solid 150. I installed the 12.5 with the hd Springs and love them. Believe it or not, the rear of the bike sits taller than it did with the 13" air shocks. The ride is much improved and I actually gained some lean angle...
