Will 12" Monkey Bars work on my 2011 ultra classic
I am really torn about my handlebar install. Mainly because of the price the dealer wants. Only reason I would go to the dealer is because I would not attempt putting on new clutch and brake cables. But I really like the 12 monkeys. They actually sit higher than a regular 12". And it seams I would not need to extend my cables.
I see this thread is mainly about the 2014 but will Yaffe monkeys work on my 2011 without having to redo my cables?
If so (besides what has already been talked about in the thread) any helpful tips?

Highest you can go without cables and lines on a 2011 is 10" (Check Yaffe Site) My buddy at work just put em on his 2013. I think if you look at pictures of the 10's you'll be pleased. They look awesome. If your mechanically inclined you can do the bar change. From my understanding there is quite a bit more de-pinning, on the 2013 and earlier which is no big deal it's just tedious. Hardest part of the job is the green plug when wiring the bars and there are many helpful suggestions here and elsewhere to get past that.

This is the day I picked the bike up.
Here is a pic of the stock bars and my new 12" Paul Yaffe Monkey Bars
This is where you wish you would have never attempted to do this yourself! I found the easiest method to pull the wires through was using weedwacker string and lots of Windex. Remember to push more than pull!! I also used Namz 8" plug-n-play switch extensions Part# NHCX-J08. You can also see that the stock wiring is just long enough to reach through the bars.
Here is where you need to figure out where you want your bars positioned at. You will need to secure your bars and temporarily fasten the fairing back in place. I left the bars just loose enough to be able the move them. I ended up pushing mine as far forward without contacting the fairing itself.
The rest of the pics are after the completed install!

I was able to go for a spin this morning and I must say that these are what my bike was missing! Although I have not went for a long ride yet, I feel as if they make me sit straight up and not slouched over. I was hesitant about going with the 12" bars, but I am completely satisfied that I did. I am only 5'6" with a 29" inseam and these feel perfect for me! By the way the only thing needed for the install was the bars themselves and the Namz wiring extensions. The stock clutch and brake hoses are long enough for a set of 12" Monkey Bars!

I'd go with the yaffee 10" which are more like 12" compared to other brands. That's what I did. The 12" will likely be over your shoulders.

I used the H-D wire extensions. The TBW is ridiculously long as you noted. The only issue I almost had was the heated grip power cable on the left side. On my 10" Yaffee Monkey Bagger bars, that wire just barely stuck out of the bars. Any taller and I would have had to extend that somehow.
That left heated grip with the controls is a tight fit into the bars as well.
The short wire sticking straight up in the attached photo is the heated grip power cable I'm talking about.
