Anyone know what this exhaust is? The dealer I bought it from didn't know and their is no markings or anything.

Yep and if your dealer didn't know that, I would find somewhere else to deal with...That exhaust has been around a long time and nothing looks the same...

Any ideas why about 6"s from the tip is blackened?

The cone on the end supposedly traps air and draws out the exhaust as it goes past the muffler at speed. When running around town, the cone catches some exhaust and blackens the chrome nearby.

That bike has two heat shields, the furthest one back is covering some serious heat damage to the chrome body.Thunderheader offered those because lots of those mufflers discolored badly.

Looks like it's been painted black to cover up the bluing from heat.
