Default Fuel filter Hoses

Anyone have any tips for installing these fuel filter hoses (fuel Inj) to filter? I just did one and because the hoses are so hard they are a BITCH. I lightly Heated hose ends with my heat gun to help and also used a bit of vaseline.. Any other suggestions?

Those plastic hoses are a bitch and after 10 years get very brittle. I changed out the filter and hoses 2 years ago at 90,000 plus miles and reinstalled the new filter using Neoprene R-10 Submersible Fuel Line. Looks just like regular Neoprene but costs $30 a foot. Much easier to work with.

I found that job to be 'challenging' also. Not certain if I would use a heat gun, I believe I used a hair dryer, and silicone spray. Thanks for the tip on the neoprene hose.

Well, normally, that kind of hose is kept in rolls...you only pay for it by the foot...however, if you only need 18", you're gonna buy two feet of it.
