Default New Mufflers 2014 SGS

Like most new '14 SGS owners ... looking for a replacement set of muffler pipes/slip ons to give it that Harley sound. Although I don't think stock is horrible, still doesn't have the rumble I want.

I have read if you just replace the mufflers you don't need the electronic gizmo for an additional couple hundred bucks to regulate the exhaust compression. Is that true?

It also seems pretty simple..remove a couple bolts, slide out mufflers and install the new ones...

Anyone have any recommendations for the '14 SGS .. tips .. etc.

Much appreciated.

You own a Harley my man... nobody refers to their pipes as "mufflers" usually muffling is last thing were trying to do

Just kiddin wiff ya Vance Hines Monster ovals/rounds/squares for that deep low rumble without ear damaging decibels

There are tons of "slip-ons" or "pipes". Depends on looks and decibel level that is to you liking. Read around on these forums (search). You will get a good idea of what you like. I think your going to find you want more than just a slip-on. Read about the OEM header that is on your bike. It is restricting the sound also.

Check out American custom exhaust. Did mine and love the sound.

Very Happy with the 4" Rinehart Slipon's on my 14 SGS. Sound great without being obnoxious.. I can still hear the music.

The screaming eagle shotguns give you a deeper sound but not real loud.

4" Rineharts have a very deep tone but if you leave the cat in the head pipe it will not be as loud as it could be. You will find that replacing the head pipe and mufflers together will give you the deepest tone and the rumble you are looking for.

If I can make a suggestion that you will find on many postings here on the same subject, go to a few rider events and listen and ask what hey are running.. Each has a different sound and it's what your looking for, not what someone suggests is good. Personally I would not do just slip on's, as many have done as well as I, get rid of the stock head pipe.. So much different in many ways......performance, heat and sound...IMHO
